This is a very interesting courtship dance from San Pablo, Laguna. It depicts the story of two boys
who are both in love with same girl. The girl in this dance shows such a skilful way of attending
to the two suitors that the three of them are all happy and gay at the end of the dance in spite
of a jealousy which the suitors feel for each other as shown at the middle of the dance.
COSTUME. The Girl wears any kind of costume typical of a country girl (balintawak, siesgo, etc.).
The Boys are to be designated as Boy 1 and Boy 2. A chair is placed in the center and a little bit
back of the room, stage, or place where the dance is presented. There is no definite formation in
this dance but when Boy 1 and Girl enter, they are about four feet away from each other, Girl
being at Boy’s right side.

Three-step turn right in place and bow to each other. Girl holds skirt, Boy places hands on

(a) Panadyak –stamp obliquely forward with inside foot (Left of Girl and Right of Boy),
(counts 1,2), tap some foot close to other foot (count 3). Arms from first
amplified on counts 1,2 to first position on count 3. Kumintang hands inward when changing
position of arms from first to first amplified. Partners look at each other......................1M
(b) Repeat (a) seven more times, omitting the tap on the eighth measure. Put weight on

Move little by little each time the forward waltz is made. Girl holds skirt,

obliquely right forward (counts 1,2,3), swing same foot obliquely left
backward (count 1), foot circle clockwise in the air with same foot

invites her to dance. As Girl accepts his invitation, he takes
her Right hand and places her at his right side facing
